Text-RP: Don't RP Passively!

I'm having a moment and I need to get this out while it's gnawing at my head.

I see a lot of people on my various roleplay platforms complaining about how they want ships, and how nobody's playing with them, and how much that sucks. And it does suck, but almost every time I see somebody whining about this there is something the situation has in common.

These people are passive roleplayers.

Transmuters are Badass

No, seriously. I hang around the fantasy crowd a lot, most of my friends are D&Ders, I'm online playing games every Tuesday and a lot of Fridays online so far so believe me when I say I hear a lot of discussion about wizards and how awesome they are. And man. Everybody wants to be an evoker or a necromancer.

Bear with me, I'm about to go on an unbridled gush trip about why transmutation is amazing.

I'm going to be a little bit indulgent today and just enthuse about some tropes that I love and want to see more of.

Motivation: A Small Treatise on Getting Shit Done

Folks, it's been a hell of a week. Nothing particularly happened, I've just been having one of those 'all I want to do is curl up under a blanket and sleep for eight years' weeks. One of those weeks where it honestly feels like nothing is going to work out.

You know, if you're doing this there are a couple of hard rules. You don't have a boss yelling over your shoulder so you have to be your own motivator. You have to set deadlines for yourself. You have to write, every day, no matter what shitty thing happens and no matter how much you don't feel like it.

I broke the rules. I skipped a day of writing.
