RotFM Player's Log: Return of the Winter Wolves

 Salutations, my curious congregation. I'm going to take a moment to update you all on our Sunday campaign where we've been playing Rime of the Frostmaiden, so straightforward we go.

CWs: Spoilers ahead for Rime of the Frostmaiden and just so you know my paladin is a horn dog so if the idea of an arrogant moon elf hitting on a giant woman disturbs you definitely don't click below.

Dramatis:

Me (they/them) - Thaleador Arthainas (Paladin, He/Him)

Richie (they/them) - Terra (Artificer, She/Her)

Cody (he/him) - Ahmon (Druid, He/Him)

And we were down one Drake (she/her) and her character Shark Bait (he/him), which made the fights tonight slightly more difficult.

Alright so, we were promised a straightforward combat session and that's pretty much what we got. We were flagged down by this really hot red-haired viking woman named Yselm to fight at this thing called the Jarlsmoot. So anyway, it was a pretty straightforward fight, except we blew a lot of our abilities to start with and then Yselm comes in with these two Winter Wolves that we didn't kill earlier in the adventure and they're all like "well you pissed off Auril".

Like no shit we pissed of Auril.

Anyway we almost wiped twice during that fight. Terra and I both went down, Ahmon had to get us back up off the floor. Eventually we killed the things we were fighting and Ahmon being a lizardfolk decided to eat the winter wolves and skin them for their pelts so we've got a lot of really nice wolf fur.

There was a dungeon. A really asinine puzzle involving putting the right objects on some very obviously flagged urns. We eventually get this horn of blasting and come back up to immediately get assailed by a giant woman fighting with an anvil on a chain who instantly smacks Thale with it for like half his health and he ended up with heart eyes like instantly.

So basically the horn we got is a symbol of authority and she was challenging us for it and he was like "Okay how about this, your ancestors didn't specifically say to kill us right" and she said that they had not so Thale invited her to come quest with us and help save Icewind Dale and that must have been the actual challenge set before her. Because obviously it wasn't fighting us or she'd have won.

And so we collected another NPC and Thale is 100% going to try to sleep with her.

We didn't get any gold out of it though. Sad face.
